I switched from a point distributer(350 motor) to an electronic and now my tach is not wanting to work. I didnt go to hei just the different distributer. I have the replacement tach where the clock was in the dash and could someone help me with the wires coming out of the tach and goes is to a sealed red capsule... what is need for the change and what kind of power and ground signal should i see coming out of the capusle?

1st of all , welcome to Team Nova and glad you are a part of this forum.
Now, onto your question. You said that you went from a points to another distributor but not HEI, correct? Could you tell us more on the components of your set-up so we can better help you with your problem.

Thank you. Yes, first off I have a shiftworks in dash tach for a 71 nova (part #s517-w). I had a point dist. and replaced it with a electronic MSD "ready to run" dist. No it is not a HEI still using the same coil as before. I have the tach wire going to the neg side of the coil with good connection and zero ohms in wire. It worked with the old set up. I'm using the same wires as before good power and ground going to the tach and no other changes has been made. Need to know anything else please let me know thanks! One last thing I have found out the red capsule I described in the orginal post is actually the "brian of the tach" and still using the same powers and grounds as before and all is good.
