Well since some filthy theif tought it would be cool to break out my passenger side glass and steal my stereo I need to find a piece of glass. Are the side interchangable? Are the pass. and drivers side the same? What about just cutting a piece flat glass? How hard is a window to install...there is a special place in hell for some one who would smash out the window of an unlocked car...

I feel for you. Had the drivers side smashed out of my 99 truck a little over a year ago in Philly. Lucky for me, not, they tried a slim jim and crow bar first and bent the heck out of the door. Door has not been the same since. I still got a small air lead coming from someplace and after 5 trips to the body shop I'm tired of going! Sorry I can't help you on a 66 as I'm doing a 3rd gen car (1972) and I believe my glass has a slight arch to so you can not change from drivers to passenger. As for using a flat piece of glass, I think you would need to get a special glass and could not use a common house type glass.
You might try your local windshield/glass place. I expect though it might be difficult.
This place actually lists the chevy to in their "get a quote" system. Maybe it is available:

Found using google. Hope that helps.....

Well heres what I have found out.Glass will swap from side to side.It is flat.the tracks on the inside are different.Cant flip them. The glass is held in with a rubber strip that is a pain to remove with out destroying and even worse to put back in.
I made a template of the glass so if any one needs it.
Thanks for the help.
