Thinking seriously about dye my interior. It is light blue and I'd like to go to the next shade darker blue. (It's a convertible.) Now I'd be painting/dyeing 2 bucket seats, top and bottom of rear seat, all 4-door panels, padded dash and sun visors. Now this would be done using rattle cans from FLAPS. How many rattle cans would I need and how many coats do you think one rattle can would do?

Jerry, i'm inexperienced with what you're doing but would like to pose the thought of dye (wipe on application) versus paint (spray on). wouldn't the "wipe on" seep (lack of better word) into the material better and maybe wear longer ???

as i said, i've never attempted so i'm askin'/learnin' ;)

good luck to ya with what yer doin', i know it'll be nice ;)

Johnny; I've never heard of wipe on applications but this that said I'm also in the dark about the whole process. Never used either one to be honest with ya. I just like the color of the "Parade Boot" which is darker then the interior and trying to match it.. vapor

hey, maybe i'm the one in the dark... i thought i'd seen a liquid dye before that'd be a wipe on, wipe off excess, if ya know what i mean...

i'll see if i can find it... it was Eastwood or some other restoration type place. maybe i'm dreamin', i dunno ;)

i'll snoop around see if i can find it.

here's one of the links i had in my collection... still looking for others.

edit. it wasn't Eastwood... i could only find spray dye (aerosol)

it's hard to find a lot of my links, because of the way i have 'em saved... i have tons that were never saved in my edited collection.

I did the interior of my 73 hatchback including seats with SEM dye I used 8 cans of color 2 coats on everything then 4 cans of satin clear 1 coat came out nice a lot of people at shows thought I had new covers on my seats I was surprised how well it came out
