Hello.

I was wondering if the steel area beetween the package tray and the rear window, that runs the width of the window, should be painted black on all 1970 Nova's. Or would it be the same color as the interior ... tan on a tan interior, green on a green interior ... etc.

Thanks!

I am not 100% but I think your talking about the speaker tray area I believe there is a cardboard or a thicker polyester plastic type piece that goes there and I again think it was interior color.
Ok so I am not a big help:o

I am sure someone knows:yes:

All 3 of my 3rd gens were a semi-gloss black as well as the small area of the dash. I assume the semi-gloss was to cut down glare. Unless you are going for the all original look I say paint it what ever color you want. Mine in my 72 are painted body color now.

the shop that painted my 70 did it the colour of the car....going to change it back to black....sort of looks out of place with the black interior..my opinion though...but my car is white...stand out like a sore thumb....

Hello all. Thanks for the replies. So I'm gonna go with a satin shade of the interior color. I appreciate all the answers.

Good Info. I am looking for the trim for the rear INSIDE window - edges across the top and what ever goes a cross the bottom where the deck fits behind the rear seat. i'm putting together a 70 SS and have nothing from the original
interior
