removal of ignition switch.

I can't REMEMBER but to remove the ignition switch on the 63 did we not
use a paper clip to push in the hole and then remove the knob

I have power at the fuse box on both sides of the fuse but i can't get anything on the switch. I thought i would take switch out and checit out:confused:

disconnect battery, turn key to accessory, insert paperclip in hole, depress brass button, turn further toward accessory, remove lock key cylinder... ;)

you can reinstall the lock cylinder and let the switch hang if you like while performing tests, or remove wires and test switch with a meter...

but disconnect battery while switch is in accessory position...

good luck ;)

check power to the switch, then check for power (on the power wire at connector) at the motor. then check motor.

when you install the pin, gently turn the key further counterclockwise and just release the pin a little bit... it's almost like jiggling it a bit if ya get my drift, typing is a pain... you're not really turning key and releasing pin, you're doing both at same time... try it again, i know you'll get it ;)
