This is my first post and I'm glad to be here. I recently purchased my 72 Nova. I'm putting together a 468 BB for it and have a set of "290" stock heads. This motor is going to be 10.0:1, hyd. flat tappet street cruiser. My question is would it be worth the expense to add 2.19/1.88 valves to these heads? Would the performance gain be noticeable?Any advice would be appreciated.

Do a pocket port on the heads, clean up the exhaust ports and install the bigger valves. Yes it is worth the effort!!!:beers:

Wichita Falls...............how ironic, thats where I purchased my 72. I took a road trip up there(from Houston) a few weeks ago and got it from a serviceman at the Air Force Base.:)
