My Chevelle has a knarly 468 big block and my El Camino has a sleeper 383.

Both are very cool I think. The big block is loud and obnoxious with the 3" exhaust and Super-40 Flowmasters. The 383 is an iron fist in a velvet glove with killer aluminum heads and a mild hydraulic roller cam.

The C-10 is not on the road yet, but it will have a very cool 463 big block with all the trimmings and 3" 3-chamber Flowmasters!:beers:

Update here for me. I am replacing my Dart Pro 1, 215's heads with some AFR 227 heads. And we are going to be bumping up my comp from 12.5 to 1 to 13.5 to 1. We are hoping to get 700+ out of the motor. It was/is making 640-650 hp now. This is all on my 427sbc. :)

Well next year we(my engine builder and myself) R going to change over to some 18* head's and see if we can hit 1000hp. But that is just me hoping for that kind of number's. We will be incresing cubic inches to 434 or 454 and little more comp. Some where around 14 to 1. With the head's being highly ported and polished. This all coming from an sbc motor. :P)

For the 6 guys out there who're running sixes in your Nova's (and the one who's running a 4), don't think you don't have a "sleeper" in .....er, sheep's clothing.
You can build those things to make some decent power (granted, its easier and cheaper to do it with an SBC), and you've also got one of the most reliable powerplants in history under your hood.
Like someone just told me the other day, "you just can't kill a six".
And in this day of $4/gallon gas, would you rather your car get 10 gallons to the mile, or 20 miles to the gallon.

Don't hate a six for being a six. It's a good thing, too.

...and since we're showing pics, this isn't mine, but here's a 230 with dual carbs and an interesting paint job. I like it.

Actually I'm looking for a 70's square body truck with a straight 6. You can beat on them till the cows come home. The body will be a pile of rust before the engine even starts to smoke.
