when I preview a picture I can't go back ant type in that same box anymore the actual picture is in the way instead of the picture code why is the picture showing up and not the code???

Picture attachments are handled strangely in all of the forum software that I've seen. They don't give you any options for changing how the image displays, nor do they let you use the same attachment twice.

I find it easier to link to images via URL rather than attach them directly to the message using the forum tools.

Which thread? Most of your photos are linked.

before he posts he previews after loading a picture... once in preview he sees the picture posted in the preview and in the reply box... after preview is hit he can no longer type in the reply area...

normally the [img] code would be seen instead of the actual picture...

But the reply window is still active to make changes.

You need to get more lines so others can speak with you too.

The reply window has only the pic in it and you can't type in it anymore I have a bunch of pics I wanna post but I can't until I fugure out what is wrong...

That isn't right; something might be wrong with your settings. What browser are you using? Are you using the image link or one of the other links under the photo at PB? Sorry for all the questions but I am trying to understand why it won't work.
All my photos are at PB and I haven't had any problems.
Go to site discussion in the posting photos thread and tell me what part of that procedure your are not using.

That is how I am doing it Philip but after I paste the pic link I click on preview post to see what the pic looks like and then I try to add text to it and there is now a pic in the message box instead of the pic link.... try it put a pic in the message box then click preview post then try and add text.....

went from here to preview and then back to add this and it works for me just fine. The image was not here just the code.

I did it both from the quick reply and post reply windows, both worked.

It is a computer and therefore subject to doing stuff just to drive us crazy :D

I'm going to blame this one on the dog in the photo - he looks guilty of something :)

BTW its doing it again how do you take a screen shot and I will show you:confused:

Push the print screen button, save it as a jpeg file in your picture editing program and email it to me.

I tried to e-mail it and it got all screwed up so this is what I get after I paste the picture link in and then click preview:confused:
in the lower box I can not add text once this happens with out removing the pic.

Is that Windows Vista? maybe that is the problem. Sure looks strange with the photo in the text area. Someone with more computer expereince than me is going to have to sort it out for you.
The simple fix is to stop poking the preview button, type it in, add the link and post er up.

no its windows XP. my wife says that is how it is on her horse forum but she can just click under the pic and it will let her type. not for me:sad:

Ya I am just so use to previewing before I post I mean what if I put a naked pic of me by mistake:thumbsup:

One thing to try when editing or creating a new post, look over on the top right of the posting box, click the image that looks like this a few times: http://www.novas.net/forums/olp/images/editor/resize_1.gif

then see if you can add text, it should increase the size of the message area.

Ok I tried that and the pic still filled the area the pic is 160x120 I tried a smaller pick and I was able to type so I guess I have to resize all my pics or not use the preview window:confused:

Now that doesn't answer why some times it works like the other site when you click preview it shows the pic in the top area and just shows the link in the lower box:confused:

Not a big deal just wondering;)
