had a 750 q-jet on my mild 454 and ran good before the pump and choke went bad the second time so i changed to a 750 edebrock 1411 performer and it works great off idle and at higher rpm but has a stumble when secondaries start to open. any one have a solution or comment? thanks!

Increase pump shot by changing the hole the rod fits into. The Carter AVS er... I mean the Edelbrock carb is just as adjustable as a Holley but it uses rods and jets instead of a screw driver and a few cams. You need to enriched and or lengthen the accelerator pump shot (they also have pump arms with he plunger in a different location to increase the volume of the shot as well. Might want to invest in a tune up kit for the Carter since you have gone down to the Dark Side.
