Buddy with a 70SS 383SBC on a 225 shot has seen 1.5's 60' and 10.0 (maybe better?) with cal-tracks and 9" slicks. He was running all motor and high 10's with slapper bars and MT DR's.
Sticky tires always help too.

Sticky tires are a must.
When I went to the track a couple of years ago in my malibu, on street tires, I smoked them to the 330'.
Then you could do cal tracs, slide-a-links or slapper bars.
Good luck

I made my own slapper bars and put them NEXT to the leaf spring. They slap on a piece of steel that I welded to the floor and not the spring. It give me the advantage of using different lengths - short ones for violent launches and longer ones for softer. A good set of externally adjustable shocks like the QA-1s are a must to control the launch.

Those slappers next to the springs are a good idea. It saves a lot of clearance issues and looks great. That would have saved me a set of Mickey Thompsons when my 'under springs' bar twisted and gouged out the tire.
Simple, yet elegant. Thanks for sharing.

Caltracs or CE Slide-a-Links, I use the latter. They seem to hook up with 28 x 11.50 x 15 M/T ET Streets.:)

I agree that sticky tires make a word of differance. On street radials I can roast rubber to half track at our local 1/8th mile. When using my Mickey T drag radials it is a whole differant story.
