View Full Version : LED Tail Lights for 66-72 Nova $55.95
Musclerodz Oct 3rd, 07, 12:06 PM We just added this company to our lineup so it will be a day or two before I get all there stuff on our website. We need to fill some gaps in our LED priduct line and this company fit the bill. These use an 1157 plug so they are plug and play, board only that goes behind the stock lense. They also carry a lifetime warranty against defect. Here are some pics of some of the Nova lights available.
kenfb1 Oct 3rd, 07, 08:08 PM Hi,
On the 68-69 leds, do they duplicate all the functions??
The one led board must be a:
taillight
brakelight
blinker
3 functions
Just wondering???

Just the LED board
Philip Oct 4th, 07, 09:06 PM Mike how do they mount? Do the original housings need to be cut or is it just a glue in place type deal?

These are held in place with silicone to minimize vibration on the board.

Philip Oct 5th, 07, 11:54 PM Mike I was looking at the lights you have available at your store site and the set for the 68-72 El Camino look close to the size needed for the 75-79 Novas. Can you post or email me the size of the board? The inside opening of the lens is 5 3/4" x 3 1/2".
If this works in the Nova it would be great. The 4th generation Nova has the problem of UV light coming thru the lens turning the housing to dust. If the housing had been painted silver or vacuum chromed I do not think the problem would have occured.
I am working with another guy in getting the housings reproduced but this would be a less expensive alternative for many to buying the reproduction housing.
Thanks, Philip
sgtsteve Oct 6th, 07, 02:22 AM I don't know why my post was deleted, I was just providing a link to give more information about these led taillights. If someone wants more info PM me and I'll provide you more details.

Thanks, PhilipI will see if i can get some dimensions for you, or find another board that will work.

Philip Oct 8th, 07, 01:57 PM Thanks Mike. Another question for you. I have dimensions of the board for 65 Mailbu, 4 1/4 x 3. Is it the same as the one listed for the 68-72 El Caminos? If so I may just order a set and try it in the Nova before installing in the El Camino.

They are both the same part number so the boards will be the same.

Philip Oct 9th, 07, 06:13 PM Thanks, I'll order that set and see how it fits the Nova. I'll let you know and send some photos.
kenfb1 Oct 14th, 07, 04:44 PM Review:
Well I bought a set of these LED's to put in my '68.
I will say that after the install and a few problems they work and look great, a lot brighter than the original bulbs by a long shot.
My thoughts:
Pigtails on the panels could be a bit longer for installation. Also trying to turn the connectors into the 1157 socket is a real pain, blood and all, if you know what I mean!!! I did have to get a newer flasher because one light wouldn't flash on first install.
All in all , a good product that could be better with a little tweaking for installation.
