I have really hot floors in my Nova when it comes up to temp . Interior is stripped and want to put carpeting in it,maybe this winter.I was looking into the Duramat insulation and was wondering how easy it is to work with.I also wanted to quiet things down a little.Anyone familiar with this product.

I have never used the product but have seen it installed on a couple of PowerBlock project cars built on both Horsepower TV, and Muscle Cars with Lou. The idea is sound and should work both as a thermal barrier and a sound deadener. It will not work as well as jute in my opinion for sound deadening as the jute contours itself into every nook and cranny to absorb vibrations and dampen oscillations (that droning tinny sound). The thermal insulation tends to lay flat and has to be cut into shapes and glued in place, so it will not dampen all of the noise as well.

I used fatmat I got it off of ebay for 100.00. I bought a wooden wallpaper roller and used the roller as I put the stuff down. It was easy. My carpet has the jute padding connected to the carpet.
