I have a 62 Chevy II and am interested in installing a mustang II type suspension on the front. Has anyone done this? I want to use the coil spring type and not the coil over. Cost is a factor.
I have heard that the Heidts crossmember makes it difficult to use a wide front tire. Anyone know about this.
Thanks for your help.

I haven't used Heidts front clips, if that is what you are talking about, but if you want tire clearance I would go with a TCI clip! They have more room for wider front tires and they're fairly inexpensive!

Have you considered the CPP front subframe kit?? I installed one in my 63 and the difference in feel and handling is unbelievable.
I've sent you an email with information on this kit. Something to think about anyway.

Welcome to the site John. I have not seen anything in a while. If you research Primedia's web site you might find something because I can remember a long time ago, while Petersen still owned it, a couple of how to articles adapting Mustang II front ends onto a 1964 and again on a 1966 Nova. I think it was in Rod & Custom, though I can not remember exactly.
