does anyone know of a place in the Chicago area that I can get a frame piece cut out and a replacement welded in? its not on my Nova but on my 86 El Camino and so far I haven't had any luck with teh frame companies I have contacted.

Your best bet would be cutting it out yourself and welding a piece back in! Depending on where on the frame it is and how bad it is you might have to weld an additional support in. The 67-72 truck guys are known for chopping LWB truck frames down all the time. The piece they have to cut out is dead center. So if they can do that with a truck frame it shouldn't be a problem doing a patch on an elky. A good drill, cutting tool, grinder, welder and expendibles and you should be on your way. I'd use a DC Arc welder if I were doing it myself, but different people are comfortable with different welders!

Thanks its more then I feel like I can do myself but I did buy 2 very nice used pieces from another 86 from a guy in California so I have the parts so I just need a place that can do the work.
