Any reason that a 73-74 overflow tank wouldn't fit on a '70 car?

Thanks,

If you can find a place to bolt it in, it will work. The Greeks figured out this technology about 2,400 BC (the idea of a vacuum pulling fluid back into a boiler, not the plastic bottle).

The plastic overflow tank bolts to the drivers side fender on a 74 if I remember correctly! The front fenders from 70 to 74 are all direct interchange parts. With that being the case I would think it should mount to the same place on a 1970. Since the only difference I am aware of on 68 to 69 fenders from the 70 to 74 fenders is the marker light I would think the same thing is true for all 3rd gen Novas! With all that being said a dealer installed glass bottle was an option on the earlier 3rd gen Novas that acted as an over flow tank.

Over flow tanks came with cross flow radiators, I can not remember the yeare of the switch off the top of my head.

The change from vertical flow to crossflow occured around 1968 in most of the GM lines. I worked on a 68 Camaro that had a crossflow radiator that bolted to the core support like the vertical flow unit, kind of unique probably one of those first year learning curve deals.

Thanks guys, I ended up buying an 80's F-body setup (rad cap, bottle, bottle cap) at the dealer for less than $30. I have the GM part #'s if anyone wants them.

I got the idea from the Team Chevelle site (not my car and it is a Chevelle not a Nova):

...Only I will mount mine on the driver's side fender as noted above. I mocked it up tonight and it will fit nice, just like the pic above. There are 3 tabs, I will only need to use 2, so I will just dremel one off. The Chevelle guys do this too.

And the part numbers would be a good idea to archive for people looking for a solution latter.
