I was wondering how to find out if a '69 nova ss is a real one. Is there any markings stamped on the car that can tell me this. I am looking at buying one and need to know thats a real ss car.. If anyone can help me, I would really like it..

Paperwork is key for the 69 SS cars....but there are many other clues and items that will help...first all SS Novas came equipped with the 350/300 hp L-48 engine as the base powerplant...two 396 engines were also available...if the car retains the original driveline then check the engine pad stamp..that will tell the story..if not, the SS std options like: power disc brakes, dual exhaust, multi-leaf rear springs, SS badging are helpful clues...there are many additional clues that come into play on BB cars...post some photos and we can try to help..

People swap badges frequently enough but there are other clues if you come across a specific example. We can all chime in with out opinion on how authentic it is. There are also people (alleged experts) who for a nominal fee will verify if your car is authentic or not and back it up with a certificate (suitable for framing).
