I was watching the Hot Rod TV episode about the Top 10 Muscle Cars. I saw a car with a crossed flags decal 540 ci and turbo jet 700 HP decal. Obviously these are custom, but does anyone know where to get them? I'm installing a Bill Mitchell 427 sb in my '71 Nova, and I'd like to get a turbo fire or turbo jet decal for 530 HP. Anyone?

TurboJet is used on the BBC, TurboFire was for the SBC (TurboThrift was slapped on the L-6). The horse power stickers all reflected gross horse power up until about 1972 when they started to list only net figures to confuse (right like that was going to happen) the insurance companies complaining about high horse power to weight ratios with muscle cars. You can buy several that contain numbers you want and cut and paste them together with an Exacto knife or scissors; just be sure to cover the whole thing with clear plastic before sticking it on your air cleaner.

You could take a stock one to a sign/decal shop and see if they can scan it and do a new one with the hp # you want. The 427 crossed flags are obviously available, so you are halfway there! :)

I just but an air cleaner with the crossed flags decal and the HP rating for my 454 on eBay:

...I thought it was a pretty good deal for the cleaner and the decals. The guys has mutiple engine and hp decal options. You may want to contact him see if he can get what you want.
