What cars are compatible with a 71 Nova for front coil springs? How many coils are needed for stock height? I have seen anywhere from 8-12 coils on some. My Nova has a squishy front end, and I think the coils need to be replaced. They are the original coils, and possibly from when it was a 6 cylinder.....not sure. From what I can gather, there is a difference between a 6 cylinder and small block springs. Anyone have any old small block springs laying around??
thanks in advance.....

new 6 cyl. springs are your best bet with a small block. new small block springs will seem stiff and ride high...unless you want the stock high look. low stance , low center of gravity , batter handling.

you can get a set from classic industries for 72.00. probably less from somewhere else.

Thanks Jay, for the info. I guess the squishyness could be from having bad front shocks too. I have to admit that the ride is nice, comfortable, and of course....it has a nice stance to the front. The only thing is.....I just hate having to slow down for speed bumps or street gutters, and scraping my exhaust when it bottoms out sometimes. It also occurs when I slow to a crawl. Is this common??? I can live with it, but it does get embarrassing at times. :o

put new shocks on it first. if it still bottoms out then it is time for springs too.
