I found the site on accident. I never go to the home page on the Camaro or Chevelle website. I link straight to the forums. I just happened to go to the Camaro homepage and went to the bottom and was thinking what the hell a website i missed. I thought I had found just about every good website there is and I happen to miss one.

I don't know how I missed this post so long, must have been metal shrapnal in my eyes from grinding welds. I've been here for a little while. The set up here is kinda cool. I started on the Chevelle board here since I was looking at a chevelle project instead of a Nova, but I found my Nova and wouldn't trade her for a Chevelle... OK OK if it was in better condition than my Nova I might have to think about it at least!

They have both been online for years. This site has been online for about 6 months, we will get there. The nice part is the other sites have done the trial and error phase with the software and here we benefit from that experience.

I am a virgin again. So while we wait, here is my latest news!!

Took 2nd place " Best Street Machine" on Sunday. Proceeded to drive home after the show on the highway, and throttle stuck to the floor in 4th. In less than a few heart beats I was at 6,600 bouncing off the rev chip in 4th gear, math says 129MPH. What would you guys do, turn key off, or shift to 5th?? I tried all the normal stuff hitting the throttle hard, kicking on it, etc.
Bouncing off the rev limiter and shutting off didn't appeal to me, at 6,600 RPM in 4th so.
I tried 5th, thinking it would buy me some time, and decrease RPM while I turned off the key. Shifted, and dropped to about 4,200 in 5th, which ( dummie) is the sweet spot in my TQ, in 5th it was pulling like an ape heading back to the 6,600 chip, tried to hammer on the throttle a couple more times.
I am guessing at somewhere north of 150MPH, I decieded to turn the key, no steering wheel lock, so made sence to me. No way was I going to reach down to hand pull that pedal up at that speed.

Key off, and clutch in, It felt like I had pulled a chute at 150 plus. I was darn close at my age to be needing depends, but all turned out well.
Coasted to a stop, found the Lokar cable had caught some carpet. Started right up, no damage, unless you count 195 beats per min on my heart.

Chevy, the heartbeat of America. I belive that one now.

Nice to have over 500HP and 500TQ on tap, until the tap handle breaks off.

I had that happen to me back in the 70's when the tri power linkage on my 66GTO over centered and quickly buried the speedo. I hesitated to turn off the key for fear of damaging the engine, but the screaming people in the back finally convinced me. I am glad it happened when I was young.

Stuck throttles are umm, exciting. My wife was driving our 70 vette (many moons ago) and pulled out on main street in our town (late at night) and the throttle stuck. some guys are still talking about that one, she hit all 4 gears in one block and kept it going straight. We should have "never" told them that the throttle stuck, they were very impressed. ;)

I was a new guy on Steve's Site so let me re-introduce myself...I recently bought a '67 wagon that needs total restoration. I'm in the process of replacing the floor (full replacement). I also just purchased the TCI coil-over front clip and will be getting to that after the floors are done. I'm looking forward to learning all I can about this gen Nova. I've always liked 'em and finally got one!:)
