Feeling really dumb. Finishing mechanical resto on an old 54K mile, 6 cylinder, powerglide car, converting to small block, TH350, 12 bolt, and disc brakes. Just finished putting the entire front end together...looks great ...but...somethings missing. It appears as though when I got the car it did not have a front sway bar! Bushing bolt holes are there but never used. Never noticed. So now I get a sway bar and realize that it goes in place prior to control arm installation. Is this true? Say it ain't so!!!!

Any alternatives to full disassembly?

You can buy and install it without having to remove anything provided there are holes to mount it in the lower A-frames. People put them on and take them off again to go drag racing in a matter of minutes with a little help and air tools.

Hotckiss, global west and several other companies sell them as kits.
