dad's friend selling set of 4 nice 5 spoke mag chrome rims, 15 inchers with 7/8 tread firestone firehawk tires, will they fit my 78 4 dr nova. Also the car only sits maybe 3-4 inches off the ground, means new shocks/springs?

The biggest factor is the bolt pattern on the wheel and back spacing. Your Nova needs a 5 hole wheel with a 4.75" bolt circle. Back spacing shouldn't be a problem on your 78.

I also own a low rider; a stock '77 Nova. It is because the springs have collapsed and the rubber frame mount bushings have all fallen out (car has 420,000 miles on the odometer). When you push the clutch in the car bends in the middle.

Dave I wish I would have known the condition of your car sooner. I have a rust free 77 Hatchback shell that will probably wind up being sold for scap steel price. I could have dropped it off at your house for you along with the springs.

Thanks for the offer Phil. When I do finally get to work on this thing there will be very little of the original car retained aside from the sheet metal. I intend to build a tube frame and move motor back two feet. Will basically build an early style funny car with a Fiberglas one piece nose. I have not decided what type suspension to run up front but I am thinking about a chromed dropped straight axle. Fake zoomy headers and the biggest cubic inch displacement big block Chevy I can afford to go under the "hood" with a Potvin style front mounted 14-71 Roots blower running alcohol. So if anybody needs a 250 six or two three speed trannies they are more than welcome to stop by and pick them up.

That is how I want to mount the blower.
Potvin used to machine a plate that bolted to the timing cover and the blower bolted to the plate; with a one to one chain sprocket driving the blower. The reason they fell out of favor was they only came in one to one ratio, and the large plenum from the pressure side of the blower to the intake held a lot of explosive mixture if it ever popped. I will be using EFI port injection so most of the intake will be dry. It will be something different from every other car at the show so I like it.

Did you get these wheels and if so how did they fit? The front coils can sag over time but I have not seen the the rear leafs do it. Someone may have lowered the car. Are there blocks between the rear axle housing and the springs? The blocks are used to lower the rear end. The front could have been lowered with different springs or cut stock springs.
