I've actually heard of someone using the seats from a 70's ford maverick.

Never seen it done, but I'd guess it would work.

Goodluck! :)

I've got the bench seats in my nova, and I'm kinda short, & it's frustrating that they only go so far up, so I have to stretch my leg all the way out to get the clutch down :P

Prolly gonna go to bucket seats myself eventually.

70-78 camaro seats will work real nice in there and look right. they are high back buckets and the seat tracks are low so that helps a bunch.

I got a set of High back buckets that the owner said came out of a 73 Nova. The front stitching looks right, but the rear does not have the plastic piece it has a zipper running down the center of it. The seat tracks are right for my 72 and that is why I bought the seats in the first place as I am planning on using 69 Z-28 bucket seats that I have. My car is an origional bucket seat car so in order to not have to modify the mounting I had to find origional seat tracks.

Do you still have those seats and do you live in Arizona?

I still have the seats, but I don't live in Arizona. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA. I have a buddy of mine who is considering using them right now also, so I'm going to give him first option since we are working on our cars together.

Welcome to the site! You would probably get your best result if you posted an add in the forsale/wanted forums. I've got some 74 stuff (including a pair of 74 Nova buckets out of a Spirit of America Nova that need recovered), but I'm in Perry, OH which is about an 1 from Erie, PA. Drop me a PM if you might consider the trip with a list of what you are looking for and I can tell you what I have, as this is not the forum for discussing that.

Hi just joined the site and have a question about a set of 74 buckets that i got for my nova
the seat tracks seem to be the same height but the floor of the car is higher on the outboard sides. did GM use any spacers to make up the differance? the seats and the tracks all seem orig..rough shape but orig.

im guessing if you redrilled the track, then just about any seat would work, as long as you checked how wide it was. But seats really don't very that, much. unless there from like a linclon, those are huge. Im trying to find a pair of BMW buckets seats for mine

You may have tracks from a 68-71 Nova, a 72 Nova, or 75-78 Nova. The same style of bucket was used from 72 up through 78. Not sure what year they started to use them is but it could have been as early as 69, but I do know they were definately using them by 72. The big thing is the tracks are different. 68-71 used one style of track, 72 had a style all of its own due to mount changes, 73-74 used another style due to changes in floor pan design which caused mount changes, and 75-78 well now you are into the 4th gen area.
