I put a set of headers on my 69 nova and it looks like the fuel line comes very close to the header where it clips to the subframe. Will this be a problem when the headers get hot??

It could. If the fuel gets hot enough it will vaporize and then the pump will be unable move any liquid fuel past the vapor. Is it possible to run the line on top or on the outside of the rail?

I was under the impression only brake lines ran outside the sub-frame. The gas lines were routed inside the sub frame entering at the back; unless this is were you are having contact. Don't forget to read what NHRA says about fuel lines in this area, if you are thinking of doing any non-numbers matching hot rodding.

Do you have a mech. pump or electric? You should have enough room there to run it on top. You could also run some protective sleeving on it, to cool it down .Just remember cooler fuel makes more power!

I have a mech pump, I think I will try to run it on top the fram it is running on the inside of the fram now. Its not easy to bend ss line. What kind of sleeving could you put on it?

I was thinking maybe like thermo-tec shielding tape or sleeving, from jegs or summit. It could help. It's made for hoses and wires.I have a electric pump mounted on the fender, it's nice because I can run the lines away from the heat of the headers.
