 :hurray: well I finally fired off my big block and it sounds awesome :disco: but after running for a few minutes to get it up to temp so I could set the valve lash I noticed that only a few rockers have oil on them from the pushrods
do solid rollers take longer to get oil up to the top end
or do I have a serious problem  :( thanks Jim

No they don't take longer to pump up because they are solid steel; but they do use less oil volume. You hopefully soaked the lifters in oil (per vendor's instructions) prior to assembly for a period of eight to ten hours to let the oil displace any air bubbles.
You can squirt oil onto the rockers to lube them from an oil can, as you break in the motor. But I wouldn't button it up until I had verified every lifter is allowing oil to the top side.

You could take a drill and run the pump with it, this way you can visually inspect all the oil coming up from the rockers, without running the motor. It's a little bit of a pain because you allready ran it ,but you can still could do it. You just have to pop out the dist.I hope everthing works out good for you.

You didn 't say what block you have, and, if you have an early one, the rear cam bearing can be indexed so only one side will oil the lifters.

its a 89 mark IV block and the machine shop put in the cam bearings so I'm pretty sure they were done right
I did rerun the primer and finally got oil up top so all is well thanks for the help guys Jim
