Depends on the power you are putting to the street, the look you are going for, and what type of tire you plan on running. Also if you are running an open rear the money would be much better saved and spent on upgrading to a Posi rear for traction. If you are going for look and like a wide tire then a mini tub will definately help the appearance. If your engine is powerful enough to regularly break traction with a Posi rear with the proper traction control devices in place then by all means mini tubbing would definately help. In my opinion try gaining all the traction you can without cutting and then and only then would I cut. Once you start cutting it makes it hard to go back.
