I need advice, I went to install my fenders on my 66 hard top and found the hood hits the fender at the pass. side front fender. I have squared the hood with the cowl and centered with ridge in the center of the cowl and the hood. It looks like the entire subframe assy. needs to shift toward the passengers side approx. 1/4 to 3/8 of a inch. The car does not show any signs of being hit or wrecked.

I have ordered a assembly manual and mainteneace manual but I am about to pull my hair out. Has anyone had this problem? How can I adjust?

I'm no body man. So take what I say with a five pound container of salt. The subframe bolts to the chassis and can be shimmed if need be. I would try steel upper A-frame shims. You shouldn't have to move something much at the fire wall to get a big movement by the front bumper. So were talking really thin shims.

Thanks Dave, do I need to shim up at the top where the 3 bolts are and down at the bottom where the main frame bolts together.

Or shim only at the bottom or top.:o

Depends upon what you have to move.
