Will the axles from a 79 Nova with a 7.5" fit an 8.5" rear end?

No. The 7.5 had 26 spline axles and the 8.5 had 28 spline axles.

Thanks, I have an 8.5" stock rear for sale. I'll lower the price and let any buyers know it needs a new one. Why is it the right axle seems to wear more? or is it just the ones I have had apart?

BGH, do yall ever ship via Greyhound? I just got my Firebird hood shipped from Southern Cali to Louisiana for like $75...all freight companies wanted at least twice that. Their size limits are around 84"x47"x30" (I think) and as long as it fits in that bin size, theyre pretty reasonably priced :thumbsup: Just an idea....

Never tried that. I didn't even know that you could do it.

The only restriction may be weight. 100 lbs max with selected areas accepting 150 lbs. Also nothing over $1000 declared value. I have shipped core supports and fenders with no problems.
