car is a 3200 lb nova. currently I have a jegs 2300-2700 converter. Were were droping in the 307 this weekend but I figure if I need to change converters I better do it now. The motor will be a 307 with 10:1,performer rpm manifold, edelbrock 600 carb, crane 274h cam(.450 lift, 218 @ .050", 106 lsa). It has 4.10 Gears to. the current converter flashed at 2200 with the old 305. Would I be better off to get one of the 10" 2700-3000 jegs or would the one I have work better meaning which is gonna get me into my torque range?

First question I would ask is your 307 a stock 283 bore block with a 327cid 3.25" crank or is it an over-bored 305 with the 3.48" crank throw? I'm not that familiar with a 307 displacement is reason for question.

I'd run what you have first as I don't see a great change in torque, and any increase in tq will raise the flash stall.

218° @ 0.050" lift, 10.0:1 compression with 4.10 gears and a 2,500 converter; I'd say you are good to go for the moment. Only reason to change would be to cover a big hit of nitrous (something I wouldn't recommend with a stock cast crank, cast piston, stock ringed 307).
