Its a bit of a story, so please bear with me.

The fuel gauge doesnt work, so I pull the wire on the sending unit, and hook up a test light. Not getting any power. So I crawl under the dash, and see the fuse is still good, but hook up a test light and see that Im not getting power to that slot on the fuse block. The rest of the block is getting power.
So at this point I pull out the wiring diagram. I see that there is a Tan, and Pink wire that hooks up to the gauge. The tan wire is the wire that hooks up to the sending unit. According to the wiring diagram, the pink wire also powers all the idiot lights, then the pink wire goes into the fuse block. It comes out of the fuse block, and goes to the ignition. There isnt a pink wire coming out of the ignition switch, on the car, or on the wiring diagram. I hooked the test light up again to that slot on the fuse block, and hit the start position, and it lit up. So my gauges slot only gets power when its on the start position. Is it possible that pink wire is hooked up to the wrong spot on the ignition switch? I tried to pull it off the plug that goes into the ignition switch, except I cant seem to. It has some rubber connector. Any ideas?

The pink wire is going to need moved to a position on the switch that is hot with key on. The connector has a little ear sticking out that locks it into the the plug. Use a thin flat piece of material and insert into the plug alongside the spade connector on the flat side of the connector. This will release the spade connector and allow it to be pulled out.

Alright, I will do that this weekend! I unfortunatley dont have anytime to work on the car during the week. But like you said, sounds like if I just move the connector to hot in the on position, I will be all set! Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it.

A little update to this problem.

The pink wire comes from the ignition switch, and goes to the fuse panel. From the fuse panel, there is two pink wires. One goes to the starter to make it engage, and the other goes to the gauges. The problem is that this 'gauges' slot on the fuse panel is hot in start only. The pink wire only gets power in start. This is how it's showed on the factory wiring diagram too. Is my only option to rewire it a bit, and have the pink go straight to the starter, and get power for the 'gauges' slot from somewhere else? This is what Im thinking, just wanted to make sure I have the right line of thinking. Thanks for your help--
