Hi guys, new guy to the forums here. Was hoping someone might be able to help me out. When I was 16, 16 years ago....I got my first car, a 74 Nova 350 coupe. I've been wanting to buy another old Nova, and thought it would be AWESOME to get my car back. Problem is, I am out of avenues to find it. My dad knew who we sold it to, and I was able to give him a call. He told me he sold it, and who he sold it to....I've been able to track it down to the next three owners, but hit a dead end when the third owner stated he didn't know who he sold it to, other than someone in town (no name, no address available). He said last he knew, as of a couple years ago, that it was again for sale.
None of the owners have any records on the car, or a VIN number. My dad is still looking through old files (was in his name, I was a minor) to try to find an old registration or something else bearing the VIN number to try to track it that way.
Here's what I have left....
Lead possibility 1: I received my first ticket in this car (reckless op, 97 foot burnout!) as a minor, and had to make a court appearance due to being under 18. Would by any chance the Ohio juvenile courts have record of this still? Wouldn't a VIN number be in that record?
Lead possibility 2: Is there a way to do a title search of previously owned titles that far back to my Dad?
I'd really appreciate any help with finding my old car by suggestions I have not yet thought of. Man, I miss that car!
Thanks in advance,
Tim
