the hood on my 77 where it meets the cowl is sticking up about an inch on the passenger side and about an inch and a half on the drivers side and i dont know why cause the hinges seem to be fine

Loosen the rear bolts on the hinge slightly . The bolts that go to the fender . Put a pencil mark on top and adjust a little at a time . Leave the front bolt fairly tight and lift up on the hood . You should see the back of the hinge slide down.Try and 1/8" at a time .
