Welcome to ther board. I know next to nothing about paint and body (other than what I have read over the decades in car mags). When it comes time to get togther with the mechanical stuff we can talk. Have some experince as an engine builder, and can fix most mechanical parts that require a R&R.

Welcome to the board! While I am no expert I in the chemical properties of paints and primers I would figure out a paint system I was going to use and then as your paint supplier what type of primer he recommends. All the different types of paints available would require a chemist to determine how all the layers are going to bond together. Fortunately for those of us without direct access to a chemist the paint companies have hired and paid big bucks to have chemists decide everything about their particular paint system.
