A smallblock will bolt in to the same place. You just need different motor mounts I believe.

You can put a small block or big block V8 Chevy engine in a 69 Nova. It is all a matter of bolt in parts. You can also put a Pontiac engine in with the use of bolt in parts. Mostly engine mounts, tranny cross member, front coil springs (you can get away with the I6 springs, but ride quality and ride height may suffer), under the hood heater box changes for BBC, and BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) trannies if you swap to a BOP engine. I'm not sure if you can get factory parts that will allow the use of Buick or Oldsmobile engines but I have seen aftermarket mounts that should allow them to bolt up easily enough.

anything will fit into anything. All you need is a welder , plasma cutter , and a well thought out plan.

Time, Patience, Knowledge or what your doing and the tools you are working with go a long way also. Most important is the beer and a good friend to laugh at you when you completely screw up! :beers:
