I want my 69 to have the look i want. i want it to sit with the back end a little higher than the front. enough to give it the look i want and be noticed but not over due it. it will have a 350 in front. I dont care about the stiff ride but i still want it to have grip when i get on it. any ideas?

Multileaf springs in the rear should do the trick. And you may want to get smallblock springs and replace the 6 cylinder springs in the front.

Fresh multi leafs and air shocks would take care of the rear. New sbc front coils would take car of the front and if it sits too high up front you can always get 2" drop front coils later. Caltracs seem to be the bolt on upgrade of choice when straight line traction is the goal.

keep the 6 cyl springs if they are in good shape. use mono leafs out back. The cal tracs and slide a links work well but are a lil' pricey. If you are not trying to plant 550 ft lbs of tq you don't need them. A set of SSM bars will work just fine. Say "no" to air shocks. Make the car sit as level as possible for best handling...especially for straight line acceleration. The right combination of gear , trans , conv. , and pinion angle will plant any drag type tire for your application. The lower the center of gravity the better it will handle. For straight line applications you will want a 90/10 shock up front and a 50/50 out back. This is pretty basic setup stuff for your average 11 sec. bracket or street car. Of course go over all the suspension parts and use a poly bushing kit on all the susp. parts and solid mounts for the subframe and speaking of subframe put some connectors in and weld them.

The most important rule of thumb in getting a car to hook up is weight transfer. Having the rear stiff and jacked up will not do this. Like I said earlier...the driveline parts have to work together as well as the susp. parts.

here's a pic of my 64' back when it was all stock susp. with a mild 400 hp small block. It had 225/50/15 drag radials out back , a 3.55 gear , mono leafs and SSM bars and a TH350 trans and would go low 12's all day on motor. This is primarily the setup I just explained to you in my post just above this one.
