Currently my nova's sitting on big block pro street front springs, that I thought I scored a deal on from friend of mine- my car however is not a big block, so the front end has like 3-4" wheel gap. I really dont want to drop the front suspension again and play around with shooting springs (haha) but I've got a pair of Hotchkis 2" drop springs just in the mail ---> as a matter of opinion... should I drop the front with the new springs or throw shackles or something on the rear to jack that up a bit? I don't want it looking like a truck and certaintly not like the lowrider its sitting as...
Thanks again guys-

if it was a symetrical "low" it would be great but right now the front is much, much higher than the rear. Should I just suck it up and do the front springs?

This is gonna sound strange...but bare with me. My race car has bone stock 6 cyl springs in it and they work great, car handles great...I cannot complain. If I were you I'd switch springs. Those big block springs don't make the car handle very well with a small block up front and long shackles out back are even worse. If the car is sagging in the back get the springs re-arched or get new ones. I prefer mono's over multi leafs for all applications.

It all depends on what the car is going to be used for. If it is a street car definately do the front spring change. If it is an all out drag car you will have better weight transfer to the rear wheels with the front sitting up a little higher at launch, but it could cost you at the end of the strip. I plan on more of a hot rod with a really stiff rear. I got an extra set of leaf springs and plan on removing the short leaf from one and adding the main leaf after cutting the eyes off from the other. While my car is going to see the street I want it set up to launch for the strip. The rougher the ride the less likely my wife is to want to go with me where ever I take the car!
