hello all, I am posting here for the first time and my 12 y/o son and i are excited about my son John's new 69 nova that he bought for 7.00 from my cousin. The car is a rust bucket but the rockers seem solid as does the frame in the rear. The front subframe is ok, too. I am already far into the restoration of my 67 firebird and now we have this nova to build ,too. at least it runs, it is an original 250cid with 3 speed floor shift. rust is everywhere, so we have a lot of cutting to do.

Welcome to the site! A lot of the things you learned on your Firebird will cross over to the Nova. My Nova is actually going to be a Firebird in disguise. I'm putting a Firebird engine in it and it is pretty well a bolt in deal.

Welcome aboard. Yup you can steal parts off of either car to make one work.

What is involved in replacing the taillight panel, on our 69 it is badly dented and almost rusted away. Rusted all the way across the trunk, including the weatherstrip channel.

The panel is reproduced. It is spot welded in so all you have to do is drill out the old and weld in the new checking alignment closely. The two rear panel supports need to be saved as I do not think they are reproduced. If they are to bad you might find a pair from someone parting out a car.
