Check by the blower inlet on the firewall, DjD. Thats another spot where F-bodies have a partial VIN. I have a 74 firewall I can look at tomorrow and see if theres one on it. Since theyre the same firewall basically, Id think they were stamped too

Well, I just checked and my 74 did have the partial VIN on the firewall, just like the F-bodies

Thanks Jr - As I understand on the Camaro the heater box would have to be off to find the one on the firewall. Can I assume that is the same on the Nova?

Yessir! Its actually even hard to see with the box off cuz its on the outter side of the hole kinda behind the fender.

The 77 parts car has it in that location too. I did not see one on the subframe when I was using it to mock up the trans conversion.

Thanks guys, DMV sent my INS company a letter stating the VIN the ins company sent them for proof of ins on the Nova doesn't match the DMV records. Got me worrying that I missed something when I bought this car until I talked to my INS guy. As it turns out my title, my reg,the VIN on the car and what the INS has on record all match. The INS guy said the DMV has been doing this a lot. Last year (Jan 1, 2006) the INS company has to provide info to the DMV on every vehicle they insure. DMV is caught up in a data overload nightmare...
