ran the 454 nova for a few baseline pulls before I start some projects in the near future. Interesting that it shows 290rwhp and 344 rtq. The car weighs 3450 and with an empty trunk plus me and a 1/4 tank its 3700lbs. It has run a 8.3 @85mph in the 1/8 and a 13.1 1/4 with the previous owner both on street tires. The 1/8th and todays dyno were similar 60ish temp dry days.

I realize that most look at the dyno as a tuning tool. The calculators are showing more umph required to run those times. I was fiquring around 410 to 420 at the flywheel.

The trans is a th350 with a 3000 stall and the runs were in third hitting it a 2000 rpm. Its got 781 heads with unknown vlave sizes.

Any expert thoughts?

I run a 71 ventura with traditional pontiac power. The engine dynoed at 443 with a 1" spacer which I can not run.

Race weight is 3680, I've gone abest of 11.98@ 109.

Your numbers look pretty close to your estimates IMO.

FWIW, my old 355 made 321 rwhp on a dynojet and ran 11.90's at 112 mph in killer air (near 0 DA) at a 3400 raceweight with a TH350 trans, 3400 stall converter and 3.73 gears.

My most recent 383 made 372 and ran an 11.42 @ 115 mph best with a tad more weight (3500 with me), TH400 with a 3800 stall converter and same gearing.

The dynojet is a tuning tool in my opinion, and I'd say the figures match decentl, although I'd say more along the lines of 380-400 hp at the flywheel.
