Will the rear axles out of a 68 Firebird BOP 10 bolt rear end fit in a 72 Chevy Nova 8.5" 10 bolt rear? I have a nice set of axles out of a 68 Firebird rear and was looking to see if it could save me a buck!

No. The BOP axles don't have c clips. The 8.5 axles do. The splines are also different. They both have 28 splines, but they are not the same. If you need axles send me an email

I pulled the BOP rear apart and realized these differences very quickly. This was the first time I messed around with a rear with no C-clips and I'm not sure if it is better or not! I had to remove all the brake springs to get clearance to the bolts that hold everything together. Not fun at all in the rain!

It might be a little harder to get to the bolts, but if you ever break an axle you will be glad to have them. A c clip axle will leave the car with the wheel if the axle breaks. The other type won't.
