How does the reputation feature work/what's its purpose?

The reputation feature is a way to add or subtract points based on the topic.

The design allows you to give those who provide great answers a higher "reputation" than say someone who only posts "me too" type replies.

Where does that info show up?

In the user list (http://www.novas.net/forums/memberlist.php?). They also show up as a small icon on the right of each post, under the Join Date

Holding your mouse over it will provide the current reputation status - should all be positive at this time, there are a number of levels.

It works pretty good for trolls as it doesn't take long to give them negative feedback.

Sure wish women had this feature when I was single! :D

nice looking site Al... been a few of us invading ya, hope we can help in any way getting the conversations going... alot of it's gonna be BS i imagine before it gets rolling... hope it's ok. i think the Janitor's gonna have a worn out broom when the BS gets cleaned up... tryin' ta spend as much time here as i can, some of us are pretty familiar with each other and are familiar with each others personalities... hope we cause no problems with some of our antics... it's all in fun... no harm, no foul stuff... lotsa fun and always respect...
