Body wise, what are some changes that were made between the two years?
Do not have either, have always been interested in starting a project, but cannot decide which-in my eyes is more desirable to me, they both look the same! lol thanks for reading to my 1st grade topic!

Biggest difference that I know of is the 1967 had a cast pot metal egg crate head lamp bezel. The 1966 had a stamped aluminum sheet metal bezel with a finer (holes not as noticeable) grill. In the interior the big difference was the 1967 had a theft proof door latch that rotated instead of pulling up a door lock button like every other year. (this was a one time deal from GM making it quiet unique and I have never seen it used again on any car).

From the side, the headlight trim on the 66 is almost straight and the trim on the 67 angles back - it is cut into the fender a little more - that is how I tell the difference!!

Here are a couple of pictures from the side of a 66 & 67 to show you what I'm talkin about - I always prefered the 67, but I guess that is why I have one!!

One other thing is a 66 is cool and a 67 is just cooler.

It's the 68 through 72's that I have trouble telling apart!

Nice! that is all that I could tell, but I thought for whatever reason that the tail lights were a little more angled on the 66. I was wrong again! lol
You guys have some real nice cars! I am completing a 68' Camaro Coupe, have decided to sell as soon as I get finished with it, But it seems that here in So.Cal there is nothing but Junk lately for sale, any other ideas as to a good direction for a car?
Thanks for all of your input!

The biggest differences between the two years other than the obvious differences in trim are that the front fenders are different between 66 & 67 as were the grilles and headlight bezels and most of the grille and headlight mounting brackets and hardware.

my opinion only... here's a perfect example of a '67 front end

front fenders, grille, headlight bezel, instrument cluster, stering colum ('67 had emergency flashers on the colum),door locks on the inside, trim on the trunk, dash pads.
thats all that I know.
oh and the handle for the emergency brake.

What's the difference between a 66 & 67 instrument cluster other than possibly the color of the plastic bezel?

I always thought they were the same but never owned a 67 and never really looked at them that close.

Since I have been having such a tough time locating either a 66-7 HT in any sort of desirable condition here in So Cal for anything under 20K, I have resorted to complete my 68' Camaro, anyone else run into having to complete a project that has lost its flame for ya?
I am full aware that a Camaro is pretty common, and it will be a car that will be sellable, I just recently (Last 6mo-1year) came to the harsh reality that I trully dont like the looks of it! haha I know it sounds crazy, but its true, I have always wanted a early Nova, but these Camaros seem to pop up and I spend too much $$$ making it the way I want it to look and the Nova gets put on the back burner once again!!
BTW I will trade a 68 Camaro for a 66-7 HT Nova! shameless I know!

Greetings from Arizona
well I'm finishing my Camaro and a 66 SS Chevy ll is sitting in the drive'
You work on yours and keep looking. I found mine sitting in someones yard all orginal and NO RUST! and I wasn't even looking. There are still cars to be found and not at 20k. The joy of these cars is bringing them back to life. GOOD LUCK Jay

I hear ya, and have been working on my 68' Camaro since the last post, but I do not need two projects in my life at the moment, to me?...nothing worse than finishing a project that I am not 100% into!
Kinda like hitting up a whorehouse and deciding not to do anything and accepting oral from a fat chick cuz you were there! (Nice visual huh?l:))
