Howdy everybody,
Wanting to upgrade the suspension on my '70 and also lower it on all 4 corners. I'm looking at the Hotchkis leaf spring kit for the rear (1 1/2 " drop) and the coil springs (2" drop) for the front. Any advice or input would be appreciated.

I bought the TVS system for my 69. I am happy with it, nothing to comment on really. I did go with the custom valved Bilsteins at the same time. I heard some ppl think the front springs are a bit stiff, so there is a bit more rough ride. Donīt remember the rating on my BBC springs.

Anything special you want to know?

BTW the rear and front swaybars are really nice, especially the rear. Wouldnīt ever wanna ride without one.

Are you lowering it for looks or performance? Street/Strip, handling, etc?

I am running the Global West Front springs. I like their spring design more than the hotchkis design. Maybe just a preference for me, but you can cut the GW springs if the car isn't low enough without losing any of the spring rate.

I had the hotchkis springs in my car and it lowered it WAY too much, I could barely roll a tennis ball under it. I have the 1" drop in the front and it still sits great.

I also like the cal trac setup. You can get the split mono leafs and cal tracs for your car and they work great for street and strip.

My car sits perfect in my eyes. :-) But I am rolling on P235/70R15 in the rear and P215/70R15 in the front. Have pics if that is interesting.

Pics would be great. I'm looking for a lower stance and a better ride. Those 40 year old springs have got to be tired (LOL). I think 1 1/2'' in the back and 2" in the front would look about right.

That is with the TVS kit, and tire dimensions as above.

Says 69, I think the front bumper is 1970 right? It was replaced by the previous owner. Or do you any other telltales that would point to 1970?

1970 bumper has square directional lights with clear lens. Picture shows a 1969, tail lights and hazard lights were enlarged for 1970 with engine size above.
