Richard. There are alot of Nova's in the bone yards here and i dont recall ever coming across one for a 71 or 72. Did they even have them from the factory?? Nick

from what i see in manuals it was on the drivers side towds the front above the wheel well and the hose ran across the top of the shroud to the radiator later models had them up inside the drivers side fender, just going by some pics

Hi Richard. I have a 72 Nova with the original front wheel wells and i haven't seen any holes that are extra or out of place. Just the window washer plastic container on the drivers side. I've come across alot of 73 and 74 overflow bottles that are on the passenger side fender but i have the same problem as you do and i looked at alot of nova's in the bone yards and just cant find one? I had to purchase a 1 quart black overfill bottle that i mounted right next to the radiator on the drivers side. They wouldn't let me race it without one. What year Nova had an overflow container next to the battery tucked under the front passenger side fender. HMM!! Nick

Nova's (68-71) did not come with an overflow container. They only controlled coolant with the pressured radiator cap and a overflow drain hose. Jackel

Anywhere I look nothing specifys on the years of overflow tanks, just novas early v8s and air conditioned sixes had them on the drivers side (a slim tank on top of the fender skirt) and later models had them on passanger side front curved to fit between the fender and fender skirt. guess i will keep what I have been using, Jack must be correct cant find it :noway:

Well. It must be true for 72's also. I bet i looked at 35-40 72 Nova's and never found a trace of one. Like i said. I found plenty of 73,74's...

I was not sure about the 72 but have friends with Nova's within the 68-71 years and no one had an overflow tank. I also looked it up in the assembly manual and nothing there either, just to make sure. Jack

I have a 72 SS Original AC car, not a trace of ever having one, my grandpa was the second owner and never changed anything other than motor :noway:

A buddy has a 72 6 cyl., originally an AC car. He has the old coolant reservoir on the passenger side fenderwell. This car has seen many hands though, but it looks like a stock set up and bracket....

How about a photo...? Would appreciate it if you could get one and post it.
