I'm looking at a 72, 350 SS off Ebay. 250517401394 Just wondering on what some of you guys think of this car. Do you think its worth the money hes asking, and do you think its a real SS or a clone.. I need guys who know more about these cars than me to take a look.. Thanks Guys

Mike the 72 is the only year that an SS model can be identified by the VIN number. I can not go to ebay at the moment to look at it however, that is where I would start. The fifth letter would be a K if it is a true SS.

Well in the ad he has the vin marked as 1X27K as the first letters and numbers. So hopefully its a real SS.. Just wondering what you guys think of the shape of the car. Its hard to tell with pictures!!.. Whats a ball park price on a 72 SS these days. Fairly clean no rust 350 4 speed.. I know the prices have been dropping lately so I'm wondering what its really worth? Thanks

That is a nice car! I have never been a big fan of the camilian paint but to each his own. As for the "super rare tach"...was that a nova option? I always understood the nova options was the dash tach? Personally I think it looks better without it and maybe someone with more knowledge of such things will chime in soon. I have seen cars here locally that were not that nice sell for more then the 12K buy now price.

I'm with you on the paint, I sorta like just a regular finish.. But then again. I can allways paint it...I too have never seen a hood mounted tach that came on a Nova. For that matter I can't think of any Chevys with one. Pontiacs well thats another story.. I sent him a few questions about the car so I'm waiting on his reply....I bought a 70 last year that was basically a shell. I'm not finished yet and I must be around 10000 into it. and thats just parts.. This ones out there and running. Except its on the West coast and I'm on the East coast in Canada.. Shipping is another expense..

Thats one of the questions I asked him, if the title is in his name. I'm out of Canada and getting a vehicule thrrough the border is a pain in the rear.I'm waiting to hear back from him. ......I bought an El Camino like that once out of Kansas city. Car looked great in the ads. So Bought it off Ebay and decided to fly out and drive it back. Well once I got there I found, none of the lights worked properly, It wasn't charging the battery and the oil in the motor was almost pure sludge....Well jumping into a car I don't know and trust.. Well lets just say its another one of lifes little lessons.. If the car was within 500 miles no sweat.. But If I go for this thing its coming back on a hauler (LOL):noway:

I think it looks like a great deal. now if it needs paint "I can allways paint it" then its over priced but I think the paint looks good.
