Here are a couple of more questions on my 67 wagon that I came up with as reviewed my car some more. The access panel on the inside of the tailgate is missing. I saw one on e-bay and it was a simple flat panel.Out of a 64 I believe. Is that correct?? If so I will fabricate one out of 16 gauge or so. If it has rolled impressions in it like the floor I will need to find one.

second, same type of question on the panel on the rear of the rear seat. They are also gone and someone has used plywood. Anyway are these also a flat panel or is does it have the same pattern as the floor? did the carpet attach run up the rear of the back seat??
If it is rolled like the floor do you htik that panel is year specific??

If anyone has photo's of the back compartment of a 67 wagon that would really be helpfull. Esp. the detail around the spare tire and the wheel wells etc..

Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

as far as the inspection panel on the tail gate if you're not concerned with originality then i think you could make one no problem. i can't say if the '62-'67 inspection plates are the same.

the rear cover(?) for the seat is another thing that if you're not concerned with originality you could make one. a lot of folks have the area carpeted anyways so a plywood cover might just facilitate the carpeting job.

my '65 wagon rear seat the cover/backing you're referring to was a "Waffle" pattern i believe...but the car has since been sold so i can't run out and confirm for you.
