Would like to hear some thoughts, I am installing a GM 290 HP crate motor with cam lift of 0.450"/0.460" connected to a turbo 350 w/shift kit and 342 rear. I may swap the cam and heads after the warranty expires, but still keep it a mild build up. I was considering a B&M holeshot 2400 converter, but some people are suggesting a hughes and some are even suggesting to go with a 2800 stall. Needless to say I am now confused.

nr,
You will probably get a lot of opinions here, but to be honest with you the best thing to do is to have all of your car's specs ready, then call the manufacturer of your choice and ask them to recommend a converter.

2000-2400 I would think is about max for that combo, too high and you're only hurting parts. (high rpm's / heating issues)
