I found this rolling 1972 Nova body that shows all the signs of being a SS.I heard that the vin number will tell you if its a SS in 1972 Novas?? The vin number is 1X27F2W389459.The cowel tag is 11427W295625 TR 753 PNT 56B BA52 A1 0465 06B Build Date.Car is a factory 4spd,power front Disc and Power Steering. What strikes me kinda of odd is it has multi leafs with a 10 Bolt.It has the SS hood with the brakets on the back for the louvers to bolt to,SS grill,SS tail panel....RabbitStew
Sorry the F in your vin says the car is a 307 ci V8...

But it still sounds like a nice car. Being a real SS doesn't make it anymore fun to drive :)

'72 was the initial year for the "Corporate" rear end which replaced the former 12 bolt with a stronger version of the 10 bolt (8.5" ring gear instead of the smaller 8.2"). GM chose to introduce the corporate rear in Novas so there are fewer 12 bolts around installed in Novas than for the Camaro which used up the last of the 12 bolt production run.
