Its a 66 with 62K Original miles on the stock 283 and auto tranny. I am the 3rd owner the other 2 Being my great uncle and my grandmother. I have all of the registration papers from the time it was ordered from the dealership. I have the owners manual and all of the new owner documentation. I have the original keys and a photo copy of the original title. ( they wouldn't let me keep it when I transfered it into my name)

It has factory AC and seatbelts. All 4 of the stock hubcaps are there as well. The interior is in ruff shape from sitting under a tree since the 70's. The body has some surface rust but the only spot where it is rusted through is the drivers front fender a place about the size of a quarter. The floor pans are not rusted through in anyplace including the spare tire area.

I plan on pulling the stock motor, tranny, and guage cluster to perserve them and drop in a 350 of some sort for now. Until I can afford ot have a show car and put the original's back in place.

Anyway more pictures will come as I have a chance to work on her.

Got the engine bay cleaned up quite a bit yesterday will add those pics later. Got before and after shots. Took me a few hours a pair of gloves a hose a ton of engine detergent and my air compressor. But the end result is pretty decent looking engine bay and 1 ****ed off homeless rat.

Well this could be interesting. A buddy of mine that owed me a favor or 20 hooked me up with a motor. I have a LQ4 6.0 out of a 99 silverado. Has all the accessories and ECU + harness.

Now 2 things come to mind. I need a good on the tree automatic that will bolt in without causing a huge headache.

And 2nd will the cpp front end kit be enough reinforcement or do I have to go with a TCI clip. If I could get by with the CPP delux kit I would rather go that route obviously from a money point.

the CPP suspension pieces bolt onto the stock clip. the TCI, Heidt's or any other brand clip replaces the stock frame rails & inner fenders.

i don't see too great amount of strength difference from a stock clip to an aftermarket unit. the stock inner fenders provide quite a bit of structural integrity/strength to the car.

i think if CPP is the way you'd like to go you'll be just fine ;)

Thanks for the input I like the idea of the CPP to keep as much of the body original as possible plus of ourse the lower cost so I can put that money into other aspects of the car for now.

Doing a little looking while I'm here at work and it seems the obvious choice on tranny is the 4L80E tranny. Any thoughts for or against this?

i've never used one but from everything i've heard you're making a wise decision ;)

i've owned stock suspension ChevyII's, complete CPP equipped ChevyII's and a Heidt's equipped ChevyII. i think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the CPP components.

i know i was ;)
