Originally purchased for my El Camino they were test fit into the Nova housings. As it turned out they fit great and will be used in the Nova instead.
The camera does not capture the actual look when lit, it picks up the individual LED lamps more than your eye would.

I am thinking of going led but I see a lot of newer trailers etc. with led and I always see a missing led here and there so it makes me second guess the durability of leds.

Like anything else you can get good ones or some other kind. Did you notice in the first photo of where mine were made? I think this set will last a long time.

LED's are pretty tough. The NHRA went to LED bulbs instead of using a tungsten filament bulbs because the Nitro cars make so much noise they literally broke the bulbs in the Christmas Tree. Since switching over the LED bulbs lthey now ast for years. They also light up faster (if you can imagine anyone with reflexes fast enough to see a regular tungsten bulb start to heat up as the power was applied like Jeg Coughlin claims he could).

I like 'em just can't afford them as yet, as there is always some new tool, or part for the power-train that just seems to get higher priority. But maybe if I ever eventually paint any of my cars, I will think about it. (They all look like clunkers but they all run; some are even pretty quick).

Hmmmm, not too bad. That would be a good way to keep the heat down inside the lens. I already replaced one set of lenses that were dried out and cracked with a bubble dead center from the bulb trying to peek through it. I may look into them. Thanks for the heads up.

Alan I purchased new tail light housings to put the LED's in. The photos were taken using the old crumbling housings just for a trial fit. I was fortunate that my lens were not damaged from the bulb heat when the socket hole fell apart.

I sent MuscleRodz an email stating how well they fit in the 75 - 79 models, but they have not listed that application on their web site.
