Is it normal to have to extend the pipes out of the X pipe to get the x-pipe fall enough forward to make the fit proper to the headers and still reach the mufflers?
Thanks, Dave

Philip Sep 15th, 09, 11:50 PM Mine appears to be too long and wil need shortened. I have been playing with the pipes trying to figure out how it will all fit. It looks like if the system was hung from the back forward the fit would be easier. The tail pipes will only fit in one location, then add the mufflers and X pipe assembly. Last trim the 2 front pipes to span from the X to the collectors. magnaflowrep Oct 19th, 09, 06:20 PM All of the american muscle kits are a trim to fit design due to each of these vehicle being a little different to suspension parts to type of manifold pipes on the vehicle. Please let me know if you have any further comments or concerns of this kit on your vehicle. Thank you. Philip Oct 19th, 09, 10:42 PM I tried to install the tail pipes today and there is no way they are going to fit. The rest of it looks really good though. On the 77 model the rear brake hose is mounted to the top of the drivers side axle tube instead of at the top of the center housing. The Cadillac rear disc parking brake cables are also in the way. I will try and find some turn downs to put on the muffler outlets and call it done for now. Hoping to hear what the system sounds like this week. |
